One of my other Collages for Studio Art- Rhythm!

It turned out my art teacher really like them! I spent over 2-4 hours for each collage so I’m suuuper glad they turned out well. I’ve never collaged before, so it was a fun experience!

So for Studio Art we had to make 7 collages each displaying one of the principles of art: Balance, Emphasis, Movement, Juxtaposition, Rhythm, Unity, and Variety. This is my last- and favorite- one, Variety :)

^^The first line is one of my summer english prompts. 

Lighting/slight anatomy practice, 3 hours, 1 layer, PTSai. I aimed to use contrasting colors here to focus on the highlights and shadows.

All finished!

Wow this was challenging. The time ranged about 3 hours, with a 6 color palette, 1 layer, and only using the Water tool on PTSai. I used a recent reference picture I had previously taken of myself (Which is in the WIP post). 

I really enjoy doing self portraits, not because I’m vain (Which I admit to within reason, everyone is), but because I get to compare how I’ve drawn myself over the years and get to see how I’ve changed and grew in both appearance and skill. It’s really a cool experience :)

Eye painting practice done after the warm-up

I used my own eye as a reference :)

This was fun, especially with the limits I put on myself. I only used a 5 color palette (1 off-white, 1 cream, tan/base color, dark brown, reddish black, and technically a burnt orange 6th color to lighten up some areas), and the “water” tool in Sai.

(Time…about an hour and a half? PTSAI)

This was really fun, thanks to Ryan Woodward’s amazing work for the inspiration to try out some animation.

I actually had like fourty more slides, but hated the full animation. I’ll post it after though :)
